Take the Midnight Train! These Atlanta Companies Are Worth the MoveBy Jess Hutton
Atlanta, Georgia is one of the most popular tourism destinations of the South, but you may not know that it also has a booming tech scene. With world-class dining and a beautiful cityscape, Atlanta is a growing destination for career-minded individuals looking to add the charm of the South to their high-tech lives.
We did some research and found some great companies to work for in Atlanta. With entry- to senior-level openings and cutting-edge offices, you’re going to wonder why you haven’t moved there already!
Jabian Consulting, a management and IT consulting firm, puts its employees’ well-being before anything else — and it shows. Jabian was a top workplace in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2015 and was recently recognized as one of Vault’s “Top 50 Consulting Firms to Work For” for the fifth consecutive year.
Like to help out your community? Jabian encourages volunteerism, with over 55 percent of its employees holding leadership positions in local charitable organizations. The company also boasts a proven mentorship program, in which senior leadership actively help employees achieve their own career goals.
Atlanta’s Silverpop is an IBM Company focused on digital marketing and employee engagement. Even though they’re well established in their industry, they work hard to maintain the energy and culture of a startup.
Silverpop has all of the perks of a modern office. From sodas costing just 25 cents to free parking, this company focuses on making their employees as comfortable as possible. In addition to income protection in case of serious illness and great maternity/paternity benefits, employees can net up to $5,000 in referral bonuses. The office environment may seem relaxed, but it’s obvious that Silverpop is serious about their workers.
A burgeoning tech company, Cardlytics recently condensed five of their Atlanta offices into one big, amazing office in the hip Ponce City Market, but that doesn’t mean their growth is slowing. Earlier this year they were ranked as the 25th fastest-growing tech company in North America.
From video game rooms to hammock chairs, the Cardlytics office is the model of a contemporary workplace. Don’t like sitting around and playing games all day? Take a couple of practice swings on the office-wide putt-putt golf course as you head to your next meeting. There’s no need to fear micromanagement, either. As Bank Marketing Associate Candace Samuel put it, “There’s a lot of flexibility in terms of work hours. Our main motto here is to just get your work done.”
First Data offers a variety of e-commerce and payment solutions to customers ranging from startups to large financial institutions. Thanks to their envelope-pushing efforts in supporting workplace diversity, First Data has earned a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index for the second year in a row.
In fact, the company prides itself on inclusion. They actively encourage employees to develop affinity groups to find and connect with co-workers from similar backgrounds or circumstances. Currently, there are First Data councils that emphasize black and female leadership and a group that focuses on the LGBT community.
Named one of Ad Age’s “Best Places to Work 2015,” advertising company 22squared is on the forefront of the advertising industry. The company is 100 percent employee-owned and fosters a clear and admirable corporate culture based on a seven-pillar system.
22squared places a huge focus on employee unity and goes to great lengths to engage its workforce through good pay and abundant free food (among other things). This Atlanta agency is actively recruiting for a number of positions, so if you want to produce amazing work for big clients in an agency that you co-own, check out 22squared.
Payscape — a company on the cutting edge of digital payment solutions — has almost a dozen offices located throughout the U.S., but their Atlanta office stands as the company’s official headquarters. In addition to serving an impressive list of clients, Payscape has been rated one of the top places to work by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for the last four years.
Payscape is a dog-friendly workplace. They also regularly offer additional perks like in-house massage days and exotic (all expenses paid) vacations. Top all that off with an awesome benefits package, and you’ve got a good idea of why people love working at Payscape.
Named one of the best places to work by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution for five years running, eVestment is known for making press with their collaborative and relaxed work environment. Not only are they one of the fastest-growing mid-sized companies in the East, but they also offer competitive benefits packages and an engaging work environment.
eVestment sponsors frequent team-building events, which usually involve activities like rafting and attending Braves games. The company also has a relaxed dress code and encourages employees to get work done on their own terms.
With so many great benefits and chic workspaces, these seven Atlanta tech companies have something for everyone. What are you waiting for?
