Make Yourself at Home in Peachtree City, GA

Thanks to Rich M., a resident of Peachtree City for seven years, for these insider tips.

So you’ve decided to move to Peachtree City? That’s great! Just make sure to check out some great tips from locals before you pack up your golf cart.

Yeah I Said Golf Cart

The first thing most people will notice about PTC (referred to jokingly by locals as The Bubble) is the 90+ miles of multi-purpose paths that weave through the city. But anyone who has spent any time in Peachtree City will tell you these paths are mostly used for one thing – golf carts. Locals can cruise through most of the master-planned city with ease on their golf carts, reducing traffic and pollution.

If you’ve just arrived in Peachtree, you’ll want to get yourself into a new golf cart pronto. You can take them anywhere, from outdoor concerts to one of a number of parks and local businesses which often have parking spots reserved for carts. You can even take them through your favorite drive-thru.

Check Out Partners Pizza

If you’re like me, one of your main concerns when settling down in a new city is finding the best slice in town. In PTC, the best slice is homegrown pizza joint Partners Pizza. A staple of the Peachtree City community, Partners boasts locations around northern Georgia, but the biggest attraction is their original storefront in PTC, which seats over 300. Its expansive menu and famous pizza dough has made this pizza and sub shop a favorite local haunt – so it’s a great place to get to know your neighbors while chowing down on a calzone or some wings.

The Great Outdoors

Maybe it’s the temperate climate or the lack of vehicle pollution, but PTC enjoys an abundance of wildlife and a beautiful environment. Locals can watch owls, songbirds, deer, and turtles regularly wander through their own backyard. Picturesque Lakes Peachtree, Kedron, and McIntosh offer places to boat and fish while many parks dot the landscape. And for casual or professional cyclists, Peachtree City is laced with bike paths that not only get you from Point A to Point B, but also give you a dose of natural beauty along the way.

Enjoyed a great ride around Peachtree City before rolling out to show homes. Be glad to find you a home here. Even the city’s largest music venue, The Fred (a subtle nod at nearby Atlanta Braves’ stadium The Ted) is an outdoor theater that regularly hosts classic rock bands like REO Speedwagon and Styx. With a stellar summer concert series every year, The Fred gives locals a place to cruise in their golf carts after a lazy day on the lake.

It’s not hard to imagine why the residents of Peachtree City began referring to the idyllic, planned community as The Bubble. Only 40 minutes south of Atlanta, the city is a charming alternative to big city living while not being too isolated from the real world.
